Electronic Arts will launch an open multiplayer beta for first-person shooter Medal of Honor
on October 4, the company has announced.The company also defended its game, which has come under scrutiny for allowing players to assume roles as the Taliban in its multiplayer component. Once a World War II era shooter, Medal of Honor shifted gears this year to a more contemporary battlefield of Afghanistan featuring Tier 1 Operators, a group of elite U.S. soldiers.
The open beta for PC players will last until October 7. The game launches on PC
, PlayStation 3
and Xbox 360 on October 12.
