EA Sport has moved the launch date of its
NBA Elite 11
(
PS3
,
XBox360
, Wii)higher. Earlier it was to be launched on October 5.The game was originally to come packaged with a digital copy of
NBA Jam
, but that game will now be sold separately this holiday(October 5).
This has made analysts speculate "How much the delay will cost to EA ?"
In a note to investors, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter said the delay could cost publisher Electronic Arts as much as $60 million. Pachter lowered his holiday quarter revenue projections for the publisher from $1.52 billion to $1.46 billion, reflecting the loss of 1.1 million sales of NBA Elite 11. Rival
NBA 2K11(
PS3
,
XBox360

,
Wii
) will capture most of the 1.1 million sales he had previously expected from EA Sports' new hoops sim franchise this year.
