Ubisoft unveils Might and Magic Heroes VI

Ubisoft has unveiled a new edition to the Might and Magic franchise, interestingly titled Might and Magic Heroes VI. The game is developed by Black Hole Entertainment and will stay true to the series' core tenets, but also bringing innovation where it is needed.

Might and Magic Heroes VI is set 400 years before the events from the latest installment, Heroes of Might and Magic V, and the plot revolves around Angels who want to revive an unfinished war.

Apparently, a legendary Archangel general that was taken down during the battles that went on between the Eldar races has come back to life and seeks vengeance from his murderers. He warns of a false Demon invasion to unite the people of Ashan against his ancient enemies.

Black Hole Entertainment is the same studio behind the 2004 real time strategy Armies of Exigo and the well-known Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, as well as its expansion, Battle March.

Players will get a host of customization options during the story campaign: like choosing their path in the narrative, how to develop their characters and how to form their armies. A new graphics engine is also promised.

There will be social aspect to teh game as well. An online component will be included where the players will be able to post content online and compete with their friends in a new community interface design to make these kinds of interactions much easier.

Might and Magic Heroes VI will be released in 2011.
