Money Cost of EA NBA Elite 11's one week delay

EA Sport has moved the launch date of its NBA Elite 11 (PS3, XBox360, Wii)higher. Earlier it was to be launched on October 5.The game was originally to come packaged with a digital copy of NBA Jam, but that game will now be sold separately this holiday(October 5).

This has made analysts speculate "How much the delay will cost to EA ?"

In a note to investors, Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter said the delay could cost publisher Electronic Arts as much as $60 million. Pachter lowered his holiday quarter revenue projections for the publisher from $1.52 billion to $1.46 billion, reflecting the loss of 1.1 million sales of NBA Elite 11. Rival NBA 2K11(PS3, XBox360, Wii) will capture most of the 1.1 million sales he had previously expected from EA Sports' new hoops sim franchise this year.
